STP-OD is an intelligent continuous distributed temperature control system based on fiber optic cable. Unlike traditional sensors, the system measures temperature along the entire length of the optical fiber, allowing it to detect local overheating and accurately determine the location of a temperature anomaly.

The technology is based on Raman scattering and optical time domain reflectometry (OTDR) technology. The laser pulse propagates along the fiber, and the system analyzes the parameters of the backscattered light. Based on the data obtained, a temperature profile of the entire line is generated, with precise determination of the overheating coordinates.

The STP-OD complex includes:
  • The signal processing unit is the main controller of the system, performing:
    • temperature measurement;
    • signal processing;
    • data display;
    • event logging;
    • generation of alarm signals;
    • data transmission to external systems.
  • The temperature fiber optic cable is a special armored thermosensitive cable SCJKBH-1A1b-3.0-R. The cable serves as both a sensitive element of the system and a signal transmission line.
Functional capabilities:
  • Temperature profile of the object — the built‑in panel displays the temperature curve along the entire length of the fiber optic cable.
  • Segment control — the system allows you to:
    • create up to 50 controlled zones;
    • organize up to 100 segments in each zone;
    • monitor the maximum, minimum, and average temperature of each section.
  • Events and alarms — real‑time display of:
    • overheating coordinates;
    • accident type;
    • warnings;
    • diagnostic messages
    • event history.
Advantages:
  • Accurate detection of the overheating location - The system determines the coordinates of the temperature anomaly with an accuracy of up to 1 meter.
  • High resistance to electromagnetic interference - The optical fiber is completely electrically insulated and is not affected by electromagnetic fields, leakage currents, or industrial interference.
  • Built‑in lightning protection — the fiber‑optic sensor does not conduct electric current and is resistant to surge overvoltages and lightning.
  • Long‑distance monitoring — a single system provides monitoring of objects up to 40 km long without intermediate signal amplifiers.
  • Durability — the optical fiber is made of quartz glass, is corrosion‑resistant, and has a service life of up to 30 years.
